Bailey's Bulletin
Parents,
We had a great week with our students! Heroes for Health presented an excellent message on health while offering some entertain from Office Reusink, Officer Lopez, and K9 Tobi. Thank you to Mrs. Leon and Coach Kaufman for organizing this event for our students.
We ended the week with Read Across School in celebration of Dr. Seuss Birthday. See photos on social media! Thank you to Mrs. Johnson for leading this initiative for our staff and students. The doors to the classrooms were amazing. Thank you staff and volunteers!
Just another reminder, we are thrilled to share the recent approval for Tuscany Heights Elementary to host Pre-K for the 2019-2020 school year. That's right! We just received noticed this week that our campus will house our very own PreK (3-4 year olds) Class. Please see more information below on the criteria for eligibility. Since this is NEW NEWS, help us pass the word around. Bring on the little ones!
I would like to invite you to be part of our Parent Teacher Association in the coming school year. We love our volunteers, and we are looking forward to building another strong team for the 2019-20 school year. See information below under PTA.

Kids Heart Challenge
The Kids Heart Challenge, which was formerly known as the Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart, fundraiser will be kicking off on Friday, February 22nd. The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and exciting event where your student learns about their heart while helping others and raising money for the American Heart Association. The Kids Heart Challenge prepares your child for success through physical and emotional well-being. Tuscany has a goal this year to raise $6,500! Students will earn prizes for each donation milestone met. The more money that is raised to help the American Heart Association, the more money Tuscany’s P.E. program will receive back in gift certificates to purchase new equipment and resources to benefit all students in P.E. To prepare for the kick-off, Coach Kaufman and Coach Fonger will be selling jump ropes personalized and cut to fit each individual students size. Sales will be in the morning between 7:15 and 7:40 in the front office for $5.00 each. They will be selling them for the remainder of the month and students will be able to use them during P.E. and recess! The coaches are looking forward to spending time with the students focusing on promoting health and wellness while helping to save the lives of others through fundraising and jump roping.

Brief descriptions of each position are listed on the back of the Officer Interest Survey Form, for more detailed descriptions please email president@tuscanyheightspta.org. Email your completed survey to Mandy Howland at mandyhowland97@gmail.com or return it to the front office in a sealed envelope labeled “PTA Officer Nomination” on or before Monday March 18th.
Are you interested in joining our THE PTA Executive Board for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year? We currently have four open positions: VP of Programs, Sunshine, Lost & Found, and THE PTA Presents…. Contact Kelly Evans at president@tuscanyheightspta.org for more information.
Lost and Found!
Please be sure to label your child's belongings...lunch boxes, water bottles, sweaters, jackets, backpacks, etc., this makes it easy for us to return lost items to students so that they don’t end up in our overflowing lost and found.
Calling all Student Volunteers!
Does your student volunteer at Tuscany Heights through patrols, broadcasting, library lifesavers or any other leadership position? Does your student do community service through scouts or your church? Does your student volunteer at any organizations such as a food bank or animal shelter? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we want to know so we can acknowledge your child! If you already have an account at the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) website then don't forget to log your child's hours. If you are new to logging hours, please create a PVSA account for your Tiger so you can start logging. Full instructions can be found on the Tuscany Heights PTA website:
http://www.tuscanyheightspta.org/presidential-volunteer-service-award.html - Please contact Kelly Cardenas at communityservice@tuscanyheightspta.org with any questions.
