It's Fair Week!!

4-H & FFA Family Meal

Kick-Off the Fair With Us!

You are invited to a 4-H meal on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the 4-H Building. Families can sit down and eat or grab and go. The meal is provided by our Diamond Level Sponsors: Cornerstone Bank, Henderson Bank, and Western Edge. This is exclusively for 4-H & FFA exhibitors and their families.

Join the Hunt for Herbie!

Celebrate the N|150 Charter with York County 4-H! 25 Flat Herbies will be hidden around the fairgrounds during fair week. Find a Herbie with an extension sticker on the back and turn it into the fair office for a prize! Be on the lookout... he could be anywhere...

Limit 1 Flat Herbie per person.

4-H Exhibit Entry Tags are printed and available for pick up at the Extension Office. This will allow exhibitors to tag their items prior to bringing them to fair, which will make the check-in process much more efficient. Stall cards and back tags for large livestock exhibitors are also available for pick up at any time.

York County 4-H Council wants to show their appreciation for your commitment to 4-H. Each 4-Her will receive one free item of $2.00 or less from the 4-H Foodstand at the fair. Each 4-Her must pick up their free item ticket from the Extension Office and present it to the cashier at the 4-H Foodstand during fair week. This ticket cannot be used towards credit for larger items and no cash back will be given.

BONUS: If you enrolled in 4-H before the March 15 deadline, you will receive an EXTRA free item card!

4-H Family Pie Donation

Each 4-H Family is asked to furnish at least one pie (two pies would be even better) for the 4-H Food Stand during the fair. These pies support the 4-H Council Food Stand, which remains the only fundraising activity the York County 4-H Council operates for the year. It is asked that the pies be 9 inches in size and fruit pies, nothing that needs to be refrigerated.

Bring Pies to the 4-H Food Stand by Last Name:

Wed. July 31 or Thurs. Aug. 1 …...... A - G

Fri, Aug 2 …………........................... H - P

Static Exhibit Interview Judging

Static Exhibit Interviewing Judging is OPTIONAL! If a 4-H’er chooses to interview judge, there will be a limit of 2 interview items per project area each day. Interview times are available from 8:30 a.m. to Noon each day. If you would like your exhibits interviewed, stop at the Extension Office to make appointments.

Reminder: All static exhibits must be checked in by 10:00 a.m. each day!

Clover Kid Exhibit Entry

Clover Kid interviews will be held on Tuesday, of fair week from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On that evening, bring your items to the Home Ec. Building on the Fairgrounds a few minutes prior to your interview appointment time. You will, at that time, let us know what items you will be entering. At your scheduled appointment time, you will have a short interview with the judge so you can tell him/her why and how you made your exhibit. If you have any questions, call the Extension Office.

Home Ec Building Host Schedule

Home Ec Building Exhibitors: Sign up to “host” the Home Ec building by caring for the exhibits on display and share your 4-H story. We ask that there is at least 1 adult or 2 youth over the age of 12 for every shift. You are more than welcome to sign up for more than one shift. The sign-up can be found at the following link. We really appreciate it!

County Fair Shirts Are Here!

Thanks to a generous donation, each enrolled 4-H member (including Clover Kids) will receive one FREE 4-H shirt again this year. Youth and adult sizes are available - no need to pre-order. These t-shirts will be the official show uniform for all 4-H events at county fair.

Shirts are now available for pick at the Extension Office. Additional shirts may be purchased for $5 each during fair week.
