January 7, 2022
Pine Families,
What a great start to the new year! Our students have worn big smiles, are working so hard, and it has been great to see classrooms buzzing with excitement as new learning occurs and goals are reached!
If there is anything we can do to support your student(s) at school, please reach out.

Mid-Year NWEA Assessments
Our students completed the Math NWEA test this week as a mid-year checkpoint. We are excited to see the progress made and growth experienced! They have been working hard, and it shows!
Next week, students will take the Reading NWEA test. Please be sure that students are well-rested on their testing day.
We use the information and results from these tests to help make instructional decisions as we determine what our students need.

BRRR!!!
With January comes frigid temperatures! Please make sure students are coming with gloves, hats, boots, and snow pants each day. When the "feels like" temp is 0 degrees or below, they stay inside for recess. If temps are above 0, they go outside. Please make sure they are dressed for the weather. Even when it is cold, it is great for the students to go outside and get fresh air!
Alma PTO Meetings ~ Free Childcare is provided!
The Alma Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, AEPTO, provides several very important functions for elementary students in Alma Public Schools. Their primary purpose is to provide opportunities, experiences, and equipment that will enrich students’ educational experience at APS.

Please make sure teachers are aware of how each student will be getting home each day. We know things come up and changes need to be made throughout the year. Please remember to send a note with your child in the morning if there are any changes.
