Take Home Folders and Behavior Chart
*Each day students start on GREEN, which stands for "Ready to Learn." This provides them with an opportunity to start fresh each day! Based on their decisions and behaviors throughout the school day, a student can either move their individual clip up (by making excellent/role model decisions) or move down (making poor choices) on our behavior chart. Even if a child finds themselves having to move their clip down, they are reminded that the opportunity to move back up is definitely possible! In my classroom, this clip chart is utilized to help students recognize the behaviors they are making, encourage them to make appropriate decisions, and even reflect on those times when maybe we have made a mistake in our actions or choices. We all make mistakes and I feel that if and when a child has to clip down, this visual allows them to identify their wrongdoing but learn that it is up to them to "fix" and/or make those better choices.
