Goal Setting and Data Tracking
We began to make SMART goals in year 2 of our work that anchored around our Units of Study and the essential standards. The staff started to become familiar with creating goals for their essentials. One thing we lacked was the ability to track how we were doing on each essential.
In year 3, we developed Essential Standard charts that teams shade in as they teach an essential and give a CFA. This is still a work in progress but it is becoming part of the work!
Along with tracking our essential standards on charts, we also track MAP and ACT Aspire in our team meeting room as well as digital spreadsheets. During year 1, we began to see the need for kids to embrace the data and thus began student data binders! We have come a long way since year 1 with different templates and formats including one grade level going digital with their student binders.
