Principal's Message
Dear Wildcats,
Happy Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week friends! As a classroom teacher, you are the captain of the class, and you alone exert tremendous influence on all of your students. Your behavior and attitude dictates everything, including student success levels to general class atmosphere. You are the most influential person to student achievement!
Read more about how important you are here: Teacher's Matter.
As a friendly reminder- you have 19 more days to impact your students. That's 114 hours of student/teacher contact time and 6,840 minutes to learn. You will facilitate a learning experience to the very last day especially knowing those experiences go with them and build on future learning!
As an appreciation for how much we love you please find the following this week:
Monday: Rise and Shine- It's breakfast Time! (Find a treat in the lounge!)
Tuesday: Nacho your average Tuesday! (Enjoy some nachos SSE style in the lounge.)
Wednesday: We love our sweet teachers! (Find something for your sweet tooth in your box.)
Thursday: It's been a fruitful year! (Help yourself to some fruit in the lounge.)
Friday: Community Donations Show Appreciation- surprise!
We got this! We are unstoppable!
- 5 Instructional Days Prior to 3rd-5th STAAR (Final Administration)
Let’s make every instructional minute count!
This week's announcements are here for you.
- PLC: Objective for this week: PLC Thursday: Teachers will closely look at their units in the curriculum, based on recent mastery connect data/PSTAAR/STAAR data plan for tight instructional lessons for students.
- K-2nd Grade: Action required- Utilize time to review your DRA/EDL results with team and plan/discuss PSA Science. CONTINUE TO MAP TEST THIS WEEK.- LOOK AT MAP DATA (IF NEEDED INDIVIDUALLY TEST STUDENTS).
- 3-5th Grade: Use time to plan/organize for MAP testing (decide which students need individual testing with you or in small group), PSA for Writing/Science, or Credit by Exam, DRA/EDL testing. Team work makes the dream work. Think smart-use all available resources (tutors/volunteers) to support. Come up with a plan and have it attached to 9 week action plan. Some of these have been organized for you- MAP and Credit by Exam, along with PSA testing dates. You need to decide on DRA/EDL and how you will individually/small group MAP to demonstrate growth for all students.
- Faculty PLC: STAAR TRAINING 2.0
Again, thank you for all you do! You make me so proud!
Wildcat Love,
Rachel Martinez

PBIS and Project Class
Project Class: As we begin to close out the year, we are starting to see behaviors escalate. It is more important than ever that student engagement be at the forefront of your day. Engaged students are less likely to exhibit unwanted behaviors. Take this time to strategically and methodically plan your daily lessons to keep the students interest high. Remember, just as you are tired and see the finish line, they are too. You got this!
PBIS:
Please meet with your teams to discuss what you feel our strengths are this year with PBIS, weaknesses, and areas of improvement. We will discuss this at our next meeting.
