Dear Stoller Families -
I wanted to thank our 6th grade families for their understanding and flexibility through all the changes with Outdoor School this week. We appreciate all your help in making the process go as smoothly as possible.
Attendance adjustments will be completed on Monday, March 30th and Tuesday March, 31st. If you've excused your student and have yet to see the absence changed, we appreciate your patience as we finish this important work. Please do not call to re-report your absence. If you feel the absence is not properly reflected after April 1st, feel free to call the attendance line to clarify.
Although school will be closed next week, students may access remote learning resources provided by the BSD Teaching & Learning Department. A link with this information will be sent to your student's BSD email account. Your students will have their Chromebooks and library books during this closure.
Tech support for password help will be available, please call Stoller's main line, 503-356-2680 and choose option #3 (library), if needed.
Please check your emails for COVID-19 updates from the District. We look forward to seeing your students in April.
Thank you,
Veronica Galvan

Remote Learning Plan - BSD Teaching & Learning Department is providing suggested lessons and activities that families can use to keep students engaged in learning during this extended school closure. Remote learning activities are organized by grade level and contain a combination of low tech and technology-based options across multiple subject areas, including consideration for student physical and mental wellness. Our goal is to provide a structure for at-home learning so families have some easy-to-implement activities to prevent regression and learning loss during this break. Include link: Remote Learning Web Page.
For tech support, please contact your school office and you will be directed to the school’s technology support specialist.
Daycares - The daycare providers are exploring opportunities to provide service (to currently enrolled daycare families) from March 16-20, March 30 and March 31. Club K and Student Stop are currently scheduled to operate over Spring Break. BSD Monitors will be assigned as required to provide building oversight.
Health Care Resources for Families - The Beaverton School Based Health Center will be open during the closure and spring break.

2020-2021 Forecasting
Incoming 6th Graders (Current 5th Graders)
Dear 5th grade families,
The purpose of this message is to communicate with you Stoller's forecasting process this spring and how you can support your child. The forecasting form for incoming 6th graders is linked below. Please review this form with your child. Stoller counselors will be visiting your child's elementary school during the next two weeks to distribute the official forms. They will answer questions and walk students through the form.
Students will rank their elective choices 1-6, with one being their first choice. The details are explained on the form. You are welcome to print the form and have your child bring it to school before or the day of the counselor visit. Students will transfer the information over to the official form.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel planned visits with Findley and Springville this week and next week's visits with Jacob Wismer, Rock Creek, and Sato will not be rescheduled.
Our presentation has been shared with your elementary school and they will roll it out in their classrooms as they are able, when school re-opens in April.
Current 6th and 7th Graders
Dear Stoller families,
The purpose of this message is to communicate with you Stoller's forecasting process this spring and how you can support your child. The forecasting forms for incoming 7th and 8th graders are linked below. Please review with your child. Stoller counselors will be giving a presentation and guiding your students on the forecasting process during the two weeks before Spring Break. They will answer questions and walk students through the form.
The details are explained on the form. You are welcome to print the form and have your child bring it to school before the counselor visit to use as a reference. Students will transfer the information over to the official form.
Counselors will collect the forms the day of the presentation. A parent signature will not be required. Ideally, you and your child would have discussed all the options and your child understands which pathway to mark. This process will help Stoller with the master scheduling process, and we can begin inputting your child's requests into the scheduling system once the forms are collected.

Volunteer Badges
Do you volunteer regularly at Stoller Middle School?
This year, we will be implementing new Stoller Volunteer badges for regular volunteers. Occasional volunteers and visitors may still use a visitor sticker obtained from the office.
If you are a regular volunteer who helps out during school hours more than 3 times a year, please provide a photo of yourself that meets the following criteria:
- Head-shot (photo taken from chest/torso to top of head, like a passport photo)
- Blank or neutral background (it could be taken against a wall in your home)
- File name is your full name as it appears in your volunteer profile: FIRST_LAST.jpg
Send photo to StollerPTOVol@gmail.com. If you prefer a nickname printed on your badge, please specify that in your message.
Completed badges will be available in the alphabetical file boxes by the volunteer sign-in computer.
All volunteers must have a volunteer profile on file. If you are new to volunteering at Stoller, please visit www.stollerpto.com/volunteer for information on how to apply for a volunteer account or how to add Stoller Middle School to your current profile.
Thank you!
Maker Space Donations
Are you looking for somewhere to recycle items you no longer need? The Stoller Maker Space is the perfect place to donate unused, everyday, ordinary items. We only ask that these items are usable and clean.
Students are welcome to drop off these items at our Maker Space Drop-Off in front of Stoller's Maker Space. The Maker Space is located at the entrance of Blue Hall in the Lower Forum. Your donated items will be organized and then made available to teachers and students for class projects and activities.
Currently, a 6th grade team is looking for some Maker Supplies for an Engineering Design project. They are in need of straws, tooth picks, pipe cleaners, solo cups, string, clothes pins, paper plates and bowls. Additionally, a 7th grade team is looking for some Maker Supplies for a Stop Motion Animation project. They are looking for Play Doh and no longer wanted LEGO pieces. Especially the LEGO mini figs.
The Maker Space Supply Drop-Off is open all year and we will update you with student projects and specific supply needs.
Newspaper Needed
The Art Classes are in need of newspaper. We recognize that not too many people continue to get newspapers, but if you do, could you please save them for the art classes. We would love to recycle them in the art classes here at Stoller; the art students will definitely put them to good use! Thank you so much!
