Michelle Flynn for her dedication and hard work with the newsletters each week! Ms. Hawley for her hard work in helping fifth grade bring an archaeological dig to life last week!- Fifth grade
Ms. Henry and Ms. Phelps for helping house my students when we have been without the morning news or afternoon dismissal due to projector issues! -- Catie Bartczak
There is a teacher who goes out of her way,
To ensure that her students always have a great day.
As she greets each child at the door,
With hello, how are you, high fives, bear hugs, and much more,
A traffic jam she is causing, as each child is pausing,
To be touched by her kind words and her smile,
That will carry them for miles,
From morning meeting, to specialized seating, they never know what wonders the day has in store,
As she piques their curiosity, captivates and enthralls them, and leaves them thirsting for more.
So who is this teacher with kids’ hearts in tow?
Just look down the hallway and then you will know,
This special teacher who makes the kids’ day,
Is none other than our own, sweet Trisha Gray! Kathy Dungan
I'm thankful for the whole Trantwood team! I learn each and every day from you all. I appreciate the help and advice from my fellow colleagues, so thank you, Cardinals! Melissa Moore
Many, many thanks to our ILT (Jan, Hannah, Catie, Tracy, Nancy L., Terri, & Brooke) for their presentations to our School Planning Council and to the School Support Team this week. I am so proud to serve as the Principal of Trantwood! These ladies did an amazing job digging through the data and painting a clear picture of our hardworking school. The parents and School Leadership folks were so impressed with all that we do to help children learn every day. LAM

Report Cards
Your fabulous office staff is here.
Whether on the go
Or stuck in snow. Snow? Snow!
We are ready to give those report cards a heave ho!
Oh No! you say, and we say you know what we mean,
We are the report card lean-mean-stuffing-machines!
So let us lighten your load or we'll call you a big fat toad!
Yes, this was just a fun way to say we will be stuffing your report cards into the envelopes for you this year. So once you review them for correctness, just let Mr. Cole know you are done and viola! you are really done!
R.E.D. Day
Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) joins the Department of Defense, the DoDEA and the military community in celebrating November as Military Family Appreciation Month. We know behind our brave servicemen and women are our military children who are serving each day right alongside their loved ones. Through deployment, reintegration and frequent relocations, our military families are essential to protecting our nation’s freedom.
This year, everyone throughout VBCPS is invited to participate in R.E.D. Day – Remember Everyone Deployed by wearing red on Thursday, November 10th. By wearing red, VBCPS will demonstrate support for military families and their active duty loved ones and spread a message of recognition and appreciation for their service not just throughout Military Family Appreciation Month, but every day of the year.
