Principal's Newsletter

April 14, 2017

Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

Your kids have been so great this week at getting back in the swing of routines. We began Georgia Milestones testing on Thursday and our students are off to an excellent start. I assure you the work they are required to do in their classes is probably more difficult than what is being asked of them on the assessment. We are confident they are quite prepared. There seems to be a great deal of misinformation circulating in our community about testing and we just want to encourage you to come in and speak with us directly when you have questions. Mrs. Richardson handles all assessments and she is more than willing to accommodate a face to face conference.

I want to spotlight our Employees of the Month for March. Our teacher was Alisa Dallas, kindergarten, and Gandhi Satsangi was our classified employee. Please see the pictures below. Mrs. Dallas is a very special teacher. She is kind, compassionate and very comprehensive in her work. When you enter her classroom, her strengths are in the details. She is a model for teachers in her academic work and professional relationships. What a gem to have on staff!

Gandhi is a gentleman you may not know much about. He is a quiet man who keeps to himself mainly due to his significant job of keeping all of our technology up and running. What a huge amount of pressure especially as we head into online testing with hundreds of devices. We appreciate his attentiveness to our staff and his expertise in the field of technology.

We are excited about Colt’s Cup and Hands On CCE next Saturday, April 22nd. Please make sure you have noted this change in date. More details can be found in this newsletter.

I hope you have a beautiful Easter weekend. If you are in town, the City of Milton holds an annual egg hunt. This is definitely an event you can enjoy with family!

Spring ‘Hand’s On’ event: Saturday, April 22 ! (9:30am - 11:30am)

After the Colt’s Fun Run, hang out to help provide a beautiful place for your children to learn.

Did you know, all landscape work (other than grass cutting) is paid for and completed by volunteers? This includes weeding, mulch, planting, watering, etc.

Come make a difference and show your kids how we help our community.

There will be a variety of projects where you and your children can lend a hand.

Please bring work gloves, shovels and wheelbarrow/garden carts.
