Educator Awards

TCEA's Annual Educator Awards recognize excellence in the integration of technology in schools. These awards, also known as Golden Apples, have been bestowed upon some of the most innovative and engaging educators. This year our very own Shirley Dalby, Library Media Specialist at Academy of Leadership and Technology at Mound Elementary is a Finalist for Library Media Specialist of the Year. This award will recognize a Texas certified librarian who actively promotes the integration of technology in the library media center and works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and students to promote and support the integration of technology throughout the curriculum. Congratulations to Shirley on this honor. Awards are presented at a formal awards ceremony and reception during TCEA's Annual Convention & Exposition in February.

Differentiated Instruction

Differentiated instruction is the way in which a teacher anticipates and responds to a variety of student needs in the classroom. To meet these needs, teachers differentiate by modifying...

  • Content (what we plan to teach and what we want students to learn)
  • Process (begins when students stop taking in information and begin to work actively with it)
  • Product (ways that students show what they have come to know, understand, and be able to do as the result of study)

Resources on Ways to Differentiate with GOOGLE Apps

Class Bank - Google Sheets Add-On to Bank, Spend, or Raffle with ClassDojo!

Most teachers are big fans of the behavior-management app ClassDojo unfortunately, the app lacks built-in tools to help facilitate any sort of rewards or currency system in the classsroom. Matt Gudenius has programmed the add-on Class Bank & Raffle to assist teachers who like to use the points as currency that can be spent, in a classroom store or auction or use points as "raffle tickets" to win prizes.
