Welcome, Mountain Lions!
Dear Madison Families,
I hope you had a wonderful summer! My name is Debbie McCraw, and I am the PTA president this year. My son is in 5th grade, and we love being a part of the Madison community. One of our primary goals this year is to bring people together and build connections that have been hard to come by during the pandemic. I'd like to invite you to join us at any (or all!) of our events and activities this year. You're welcome to attend all of our PTA meetings, but we also put on activities and events for students and families. We're always looking for volunteers, so don't be shy. You can sign up for a specific job or just let us know you can help on our SignUp Genius form. Watch your inbox for Madison Memos every two weeks, and be sure to join the Madison PTA Facebook Group to stay connected. I hope to get to know many of you in the coming year. Please reach out if you have ideas, suggestions or anything else to share. I can be reached at president@madisonschoolpta.org.
Sincerely,
Debbie McCraw

Please Join and Volunteer with the Madison PTA!
The PTA is so excited to welcome everyone back to Madison this year!
Online PTA Membership Registration is now open and is the preferred method of payment. Membership dues are $20.00 per family to renew your membership or to become a first time member. You can access registration by going to our Madison PTA page and clicking on Join PTA.
Your Membership includes access to the directory of all students and staff at Madison through our mobile app Directory Spot. Access will be granted mid September once class lists are finalized by the District.
The PTA raises money for many events and extra curricular activities through out the school year. By joining the PTA, you join a family of parents and teachers that positively affect the lives of our children at Madison! The PTA has supported Madison through funding of large purchases including new playground equipment and rock wall and smaller purchases like teacher wishlists.
In addition to regular volunteer opportunities, we have a few immediate needs:
- Battle of the Books/Jr Battle of the Books - chair and volunteers
- Madison Inc - chair and volunteers
- Chess Club - volunteers
- Run-a-thon/Fun Run - volunteers for race day and prize distribution
- Art Appreciation - volunteers
- Donut Breakfast (formerly Pancake Breakfast) - chair and volunteers
- Beautification Committe - Interested in helping Madison students with a Fall landscape cleanup? Weekend date and time TBD. Contact Candace at Candace.m.small@gmail.com!
Volunteer sign-up is HERE.
Thank you for your support!

Madison Message: What You Need to Know
Mr. Callahan shared a lot of great information in a recent Madison Message edition, which you can view here. It includes:
- Employment opportunities with Madison
- Car arrival and dismissal procedures
- Breakfast and lunch service
- Information on entrance and exit
- Bus schedules
- Before and after school program
- Important, upcoming dates

Thank you, Welcome Committee!!
Each year the Madison Welcome Committee helps welcome our newest Mountain Lions by delivering "Welcome to Madison" signs to all of our new students before the school year starts. If you received a sign, be sure to scan the QR code on the back to access your PTA welcome guide!
We'd like to thank this year's committee for delivering the signs to our 57 new Madison students, helping them feel welcomed into this special community. Thank you to Kristin Fahey, Jessica Houston, Diana Benoist, Heidi Coppersmith, Karen Dawson, Shelly Baker, Abby Markham, and committee chair Katie Morris. We appreciate your efforts to help our newest students feel welcome!

A Meet and Treat Success!
Thank you to all of the Madison community - teachers, staff and parent volunteers - who made this year's Meet and Treat a rousing success. Kids had so much fun seeing their new classrooms, learning about activities like Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and PTA - and of course a cold ice cream treat. An extra special thanks to Meet and Treat committee chairs Heather Graf and Ellen Giuntoli.

Picture Day is August 31
