Duveneck Connections
Home of the Dragons - August 26, 2020
Dear Duveneck Dragon Families,
Thank you for your support over the past two weeks as we settle into the new school year. Our teachers and staff have spent many hours preparing their lessons and opening channels of communication and connection with you and your children. I have had the opportunity to join a number of zoom classroom sessions and have been quite impressed with student engagement, participation, and enthusiasm for learning. We will be in the distance learning model for a while so let’s make sure to continue to work together to keep this positive momentum going.
Our librarian, Ms. Doree Tschudy, is working on our school wide distribution plan and the goal is to have distributions every two weeks of supplies & materials on a regular basis, including checking out books from our library. More details to come in the near future.
I want to end by thanking all of you for what you are doing at home to support your children in school. If you think about it, you are your child’s first teacher and forever teacher. I know at times supporting your child at home with distance learning is not easy. However, through the rough times and good times, we are the Duveneck village that keeps all our students at the center of our work. They are the ‘why’ we became parents and educators. So let’s stay as strong as we can and surround our students with everything they need to feel loved, heard, supported and happy this school year.

If your child is eligible for free and/or reduced-price meals, he/she may also be eligible for other school program benefits when fees or costs are involved. Please feel free to contact our clerk, Beth Hedge, or me, your principal.
