Dear Lone Star Families,
The MISD Free Covid Testing location is bumping their hours back even more! Beginning next week, it will be opened T-TH mornings only. I so look forward to Covid being a faded story we tell our grandkids. The way my parents told my children about their experiences of the Great Depression, WWII and life before television.
Until then, let's do our best to stay bright eyed and bushy tailed. After healthy eating, exercise makes the top 5 list of healthy activities along with hydration, sleep, and reducing stress.
Exercise is only a small sliver of the weight loss pie as far as calories burned but it is a HUGE piece of Frittata in disease prevention. Regular exercise can help reduce risk of many chronic conditions like arthritis, diabetes II, heart disease, cancer, depression, anxiety, and dementia.

monica.lemke@misd.orgWeekly COVID Positive Case Notification (April 24-30)
Dear Lone Star Elementary Parents and Staff,
During the week of April 24-30, we were notified about 1 positive COVID-19 test for an individual in our building. The families of students who have been identified as having close contact with this individual have been notified.
A close contact is defined as someone within 6 feet of the individual for 15 minutes or longer without protective face coverings or someone who was directly exposed to infectious secretions. We feel it is our responsibility to keep our parents and staff informed as much as possible during this time. Disinfecting of the building continues to happen on a nightly basis. Teachers and staff are diligently cleaning commonly touched surfaces throughout the day according to TEA Guidelines.
We are taking every step possible to stop the spread to others. If you are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, we strongly encourage you to consult with your health care provider and communicate with your campus nurse. We will continue to monitor the situation and report required information to the Montgomery County Health Department.
Sincerely,
Lone Star Elementary Administration
