Reindeer Report

January 2021

Greetings from the Superintendent's Office

Welcome back to a new year! I am very excited that we have completed our first semester of school and are preparing for a great second semester. First semester presented many trials and new experiences for our students, staff, and families. It is my sincere hope that with the beginning of a new year we start to see a return to normalcy here at school and in the world at large. The school district will continue to partner with our parents and the community to ensure the needs of each individual student are met. Thank you to each of you for doing your part to make the Clarkton C-4 School District a success!

Angel Tree Project

The Clarkton C-4 School District sincerely thanks everyone who helped with the Angel Tree project this year. Many people adopted and provided gifts for angels. Others donated money to the cause. Through your generous actions, more than 80 children were provided Christmas gifts as a part of the Angel Tree project!

Benchmark Testing: January 11-15, 2021

In order to support the mission of Missouri schools to meet the educational needs of students during the pandemic, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has created the Missouri Learning, Engagement and Preparation (MO LEAP) program. As a part of this program, benchmark testing aimed at measuring on-grade and on-course level student learning is available to all Missouri school districts. These tests are designed to determine student learning to date and evaluate levels of progress based on the current year's expectations. Students in grades three through eight will take MO LEAP benchmark assessments in reading and math. Grades five and eight will also take the MO LEAP benchmark for science. At the high school level, students currently enrolled in Algebra I, Biology, English II, and Government will also take the MO LEAP benchmark for these courses. These tests are designed to mirror the MAP and EOC exams students will be taking in March and April. Testing dates will be January 11-15, 2021. Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest during this week and discuss with them the importance of doing their best. This test will help teachers understand where students are struggling and be better able to help fill in learning gaps moving forward!
