Distance Learning Plan & Recommendations
Today, our Gayman Elementary School teachers' websites went live. Here is an opportunity for students to keep learning and to stay engaged with their teachers. As you begin this process, here are a few recommendations:
1. Create a daily schedule. Consider adding "School Time" (for Gayman activities), "Creative Play" (Legos, baking, drawing, etc.), and "Quiet Reading", along with outdoor walks and indoor games.
2. Set a consistent "School Time". Pick 1-2 times a day when your child will be learning.
3. Create a work area. Ideas include the kitchen table, bedroom desk, or be creative and pull out a clipboard for movable location.
4. Keep track of your child's questions. While online learning is new for us, it's the future for our children. To help your child navigate this life-long learning approach, show him/her how to track their questions in a notebook, while working from a computer. Later, your child can email the questions to his/her teacher.
See you soon!

- Providing just enough information
- Modeling calmness
- Limiting news exposure
- Keeping an eye out for reassurance seeking

Art Mobile
Last week, our students visited the Artmobile's STEAM exhibit, "Marvelous Machines". This amazing experience integrated art, mechanical engineering and physics into an interactive experience. Thank you to the Gayman Home and School for supporting this event!
