Dear Kingsley Families,

It was a great week at Kingsley School! Our Kingsley School Sign Language Club kicked off this week, choir practice began, and we participated in National Walk to School Day.

Parent-Teacher Conference sign-up went out this week. Our staff is excited to meet with you in person and talk about all of the exciting things happening at Kingsley!

Don't forget...there is no school on Monday.

Have a great weekend,

National Walk to School Day was Wednesday, October 6th. Students, staff, and even Dr. Russell came to join us. We met at Divine Savior Church and enjoyed the fresh air as we walked to school TOGETHER! Did you miss us this year? We hope you can join us next year.

When Will Parents Receive Fall Benchmarking Assessments?

Fall NWEA MAP reports will be sent home Friday, October 15th. Students who also participated in Fall Aimsweb testing will receive that report on October 15th as well. While these Fall benchmarking assessments are helpful in planning for student learning, teachers are excited to focus parent-teacher conferences on daily student performance. Reports will be sent home in envelopes in students' backpacks.

How do we celebrate Halloween at Kingsley?

Halloween will be celebrated at Kingsley School on Friday, October 29th. It continues to be our practice that no food or candy of any kind will be allowed during classroom or holiday celebrations. Classroom parties will focus on team-building versus foods and sweets. Halloween parade details to follow.

Costume Guidelines (No changes from previous years):

  2. Costumes should promote healthy attitudes and good taste
  3. No props/accessories that could be construed as a weapon, i.e. toy guns, knives, clubs, spears, bows/arrows, etc.
  4. No costumes that promote excess violence or in any way emphasize the use of guns or knives
  5. No costumes that endorse products inappropriate for children, i.e. cigarettes, alcohol, etc.

COVID Test To Stay Update

Voluntary COVID Testing Program Sign-up

District 58 encourages families to consider signing up for free PCR COVID-19 testing for District 58 students. Registration for this optional testing program is open and our program is actively underway.

Families can select from any or all of three types of testing services including:

  1. Weekly screening testing (routine testing)

  2. Symptomatic testing (testing when a student or staff member develops symptoms at school)

  3. Test-to-Stay (testing for situations in which a student has been identified as a close contact)

Test-to-Stay, an IDPH-endorsed process that allows a close contact to remain in school with regular antigen testing. Please see the district communication regarding the IDPH's guidance regarding when Test-to-Stay can be implemented in schools.

The student sign up for our school can be found below.
