Coyote Connection
Volume 1, Issue 19
A Note From Mrs. McNeil
Thank you for a fantastic first semester at Forest Creek! We are anticipating an even better second half of the year where we will be building more connections via our Coyote Crew, Coyote Clubs, and Academic Challenge Team. As we close out this semester, I wanted to ask that you continue to remind your student to not use his/her/their cell phone during the school day and to keep them off until they exit the building at the end of the day. For the most part, our students are doing a great job of not using their cell phones on our stairwells and hallways at dismissal. We also ask that you remind your student that they should not wear their air pods or any type of headphones/earbuds during any transitions and not inside the building without permission from a staff member. As you can imagine, transitions are a time that many students are moving in our building. We want to make sure we are always practicing safety and need all of our students to be able to hear the adults who are providing directions and supervision during transitions and dismissal. Thank you in advance for your help in communicating this expectation to your student(s). Our 2nd quarter is about to close out and that is hard to believe! Please remember to reach out directly to your student's teacher regarding any concerns or questions you have related to your student's assignments and or grades in Powerschool. This is the best way to streamline the communication process and get the clarification you need in a timely manner. Reaching out to guidance or admin when inquiring about grades or specific assignments creates a longer response wait time. We hope all of our Coyotes will participate in this week's spirit day festivities. We are excited to celebrate the upcoming break with our 'Yotes. A graphic of the spirit day festivities can be found below. We will be closing out this week with our 2nd quarter celebration and concessions will be sold during the day's activities.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday break!
Yours In Education,
Christine V. McNeil

Other Happenings This Week
Our Battle of the Books students have been reading and practicing up a storm. They had to pass six quizzes with a 70% or better to qualify for the team that goes to the county battle. We can only take five students to the county battle, and we have sixteen that have qualified!!! Amazing!
To determine which five we will be sending to the county battle, we will be hosting a round robin style tournament to determine which team goes to the county battle. The tournament will take place this week during FLEX on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Good luck to our BOB students!
Coyote Crew Launch Meeting
Our Coyote Crew team has been selected and we will be hosting our first meeting Thursday during FLEX. The goals of this first meeting are: getting to know each other, reviewing expectations, and some team building!
