Kindergarten Fun

Here are some of the fun things we did in January.

Happy New Year!

We celebrated the new year in kindergarten by writing about what we did and what we would like to accomplish.

We learned about diversity during our week long study of Martin Luther King Jr. We read stories about MLK Jr., and completed activities to show how people off all races should get along. We also read The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss and learned that it does not matter what you look like on the outside.

We also completed a egg experiment to show that people may be different on the outside, but the same on the inside.

The students made a snowman and then created a story to go along with it.

Community Unit

The students learned about communities during the month of January. We read Miss Bindergarten Takes A Field Trip With Kindergarten and learned about places in a community. We learned about signs we see in a community. We learned about three different types of communities. We also learned about community helpers.

Community helper day

Students come to school dressed as the community helper they chose to write about.
