Class Scheduling for the 2018-2019 School Year
We are excited to announce that next year we will have over 200 students in our FCJH Band Program! We cannot wait! We have many new and exciting things happening in the Music Department next year and are eager to unveil them to the students. If your student did not put band on their schedule for next year, and would still like to join in on the fun, simply send us an email and we will get it to the guidance office. Remember, as an 8th grader, space becomes available in their schedule to take more of the electives offered at the junior high level to where they can be in band as well as experience those. We don't want anyone to close doors to opportunities!
Junior High March Concert
Prior to the start of the concert, there will be an informational meeting for parents of 8th grade students who will be going on into high school band. (it is not too late to sign up if your student has not already). After dropping your students off for their report time, you can head to the orchestra room. Signs will be posted. The meeting will conclude prior to the start of the concert. Below is from Mr. Niemiec and Mrs. Torres:
Incoming Freshmen Band Parent Meetings
Next week, immediately preceding your junior high concerts at HSE High School, we will be having a meeting for PARENTS OF INCOMING FRESHMEN! At this meeting, we will disseminate important information about HIGH SCHOOL BAND! We will answer your questions about scheduling, band placement, marching band, how we handle conflicts with sports and other high school activities, etc. and prepare you for joining the HSE BAND FAMILY!!
These meetings will take place at 6:15pm on the night of your concert here at the high school. (3/20 or 3/21 respectively) After you drop off your student for their warm-up, we will direct parents of 8th graders to an area for this meeting. (TBD) We will be finished by the time the concert starts!
Questions before the meeting? Please contact Audrey Torres (atorres@hse.k12.in.us) or Mike Niemiec (mniemiec@hse.k12.in.us).
Thank you so much!!

Fundraiser Item Delivery
FCI Delivery - Tuesday 3/20/18
FCJH Delivery - Wednesday 3/21/18
Students who sold 1-10 should easily be able to take items home with them on the bus. For those students who sold more than 10, it would be safe to make arrangements to be a car rider. Students could also take a few boxes home on the bus then return for the remaining items before 5:30pm of that same evening. Enter door #2 the gym entrance for FCI on Tuesday, and door #24 on Wednesday for FCJH). Items can sit at room temperature for up to 10 hours after being delivered. Plan ahead if your child sold a lot! Your original order from will be in the box labelled 1 of 1(or however many boxes your student has). There will be an instruction sheet included with all orders. Checks can be made payable to FCJH or FCI depending on which school your student attends. All money needs to be collected and return to school before we go on Spring Break. Prizes will be passed out when money as been collected.
We could still use more parent help at FCI if you have a background check on file and are available around 1:00pm to help sort items.
Thank you again for all of your help!
