News You Can Use!

Attendance and Tardies

We are learning from 7:30-3:00 every day! The tardy bell is 7:35. We need your child here all day every day. We take attendance between 8:45-9:15. We work hard from hard from bell to bell. We are still in full on learning mode after lunch too!

Subjects-Grades-Report Cards-Homework

Mrs. McPherson teaches Reading, Writing, and SS

Ms. Sullivan teaches Math and Science

Check Skyward to monitor your student's grades. There is an app! You can also sign up for email alerts. Grades are updated by Wednesday each week.

Report Cards will come home the Thursday after each grading period ends. They do not need to be signed and returned (they are to be hung up on the refrigerator!) However, Progress Reports will be sent home halfway through each grading period and must be signed and returned.

Homework is given on Mondays and is due by Friday morning. If you ever have any questions about homework or need help ;) please let us know! Send a note, email, or circle the problem and send it back to school with your student.

Behavior

Check your student's take home folder to look for any notes or behavior marks. We have new AES Expectations this year!

Be Safe

Be Kind

Be Responsible

Be Respectful

Be Productive

If you student isn't following our expectations after multiple warnings, he/she will earn a behavior mark. If it is severe, we will notify you via phone or email.

Volunteers-Austin Trip

We love volunteers! If you would like to volunteer in or outside the classroom please let us know!

If you want to volunteer to help us on the Austin field trip you need to fill out a background check in the office. Our FAB PTO pays for most of the field trip, but we will be asking for monetary donations for snacks and pizza. More info to come about Austin!

Stay Connected!

Both Mrs. McPherson and Mrs. Sullivan send many Reminds and Weekly emails. If you aren't subscribed to Remind101 or getting our weekly emails, let us know and we will get you connected!

Conferences

Our conference time is everyday from 1:50-2:40. We are available to meet with you if you have any questions or concerns. We can also meet after school. Please let us know a few days in advance because we have many meetings scheduled throughout the week during our conference and after school.

Snacks and Lunch

Your child may bring a healthy "working snack" to school. We eat snack in the morning as we work, so nothing that makes a mess or yucky fingers. Something small and quick to get them by until lunch is perfect.

We each lunch at 11:25. You are welcome to come eat lunch with your child, but please remember that friends can not be invited to come eat with you.
