Mattingly Inducted into the Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame

Mrs. Sharon Mattingly was inducted into the Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame today at Western Kentucky University. Mrs. Mattingly is one of only two inductees into this year's Hall of Fame.


Mrs. Mattingly is in her 27th year of teaching Spanish. She plays an important role at BCHS, not only in the Foreign Language department, but as a department chair and teacher leader. She is highly respected by students and teachers alike.

First year agriculture students have enjoyed driving new tractors from our community partners throughout the semester. We thank J and J Sales, Wright Implement, and Hobdy Dye and Read for supporting our agriculture program and students by providing these exciting opportunities!

We are excited to announce the addition of a state-of-the-art Anatomage Virtual Dissection Table to our BioMed pathway at Barren County High School. Join the BCHS Drama Club and Choir as part of the BCHS Caroling Crew. You do not have to be a member of either to participate. Rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays 3:15-4:30 through the rest of the semester. Caroling opportunities include the Dec. 16th concert, caroling on the square and visiting nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals in our community to share cheer. You are not required to participate in each caroling session. This is just for fun and to give something back to the community!

Auditions for the production of “Annie” will be after school Dec. 6-9th until 6 p.m. Audition materials are available for pickup in the high school office.

The SADD Club is having a “Food Drive”. Please help by bringing in non perishable items to Ms. Moore’s room across from the library or Shelly Thomas’ room at Trojan Academy

Class Officer Elections will be conducted in a virtual format this year. Campaign materials will be posted all week and voting will be conducted on Monday..

Open Lab Days: Will be on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. through December 16 to help students with the FAFSA, college applications, job searches, resumes, etc.

2022 yearbooks are on sale at Jostens.com. The cost is $70 through Dec. 31.

Seniors may order their cap & gown kits at www.balfour.com. The cost is $45 & this is required for graduation. Students who need financial assistance may visit the Family Resource Center in the Cross Hall.
