Acute Cardiovascular
System Responses
About-
When exercising the working muscles need to have greater amounts of oxygen and energy delivered by the cardiovascular system. This needs to happen to meet the increasing needs during activity. The working muscles need to have more blood, this speeds up the removal of carbon dioxide and other wastes. In order to do this the cardiovascular system undergoes a number of changes.
Cardiac Output with Visible Body
Cardiac Output-
The cardiac output is the amount of blood pumped out of the heart in one minute. There is two components that make up the cardiac output are stroke volume and heart rate.
Cardiac Output (Q) = Stroke Volume (SV) + Heart Rate (HR)
-- COMPONENTS --
Stroke Volume (SV)
The amount of blood ejected by the left ventricle per beat
Heart Rate (HR)
The number of times the heart beats in one minute
Cardiac Output (Q)
The amount of blood pumped out of the heart in one minute
