Words of Wisdom
No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.
~ Douglas MacArthur
But our role may not be as clear-cut when we rely on others for our safety, those individuals who sacrifice their safety (and time with their families) to protect the freedoms we enjoy. We may not be on the front lines, but we can be vigilant in demonstrating our respect for those who protect us and we can hold our youth to this same standard. It's natural to want to preserve something that works for us. We do regular maintenance on our homes and vehicles to make sure they are safe and serve us well. These are within our control. We can take responsibility for their upkeep.
With something to think about . . .
Remember to take care of yourself.
Take care to give thanks for and to appreciate the often-overlooked blessing of those who protect our freedoms.
Happy Birthday!
