Welcome!

We are excited to announce a few staffing changes. First, we want to welcome Mrs. Abby Fazekas, who will be our new Librarian. She comes to us from Hill Creek School, and is excited to be a part of the Pepper Drive Family. We are also eager to welcome Mrs. Emily Rote to our Middle School Team. Although she was already a part of our school intervention team, she is now going to be teaching 7th Grade English and Language Arts, while Mrs. Kim will move over to teach 7th Grade Math/History. This change will start on Monday, January 9th. Mrs. Rote will send an introductory email to the 7th grade families next week, so you can get to know her better.

8th Grade Parents-High School Registration Open

If your child is planning to attend high school in the Grossmont High School District next year, the window is now open (Dec. 1-Feb. 28) for requesting School Choice (attending a school that is not within your address boundary) and for general Registration. Click here for more information on how to complete the School Choice Requests, and more information about the Grossmont High School Boundaries.

6th Grade Camp

Our Pepper Drive 6th Graders will be attending Camp Cuyamaca January 30th - February 3rd, 2023. A parent information meeting took place on Wednesday, December 14th. 6th Grade families had total amounts due and all the necessary paperwork sent home this week. That paperwork was DUE to their homeroom teachers before we went out on Winter Break.

The total cost of camp is $350. Payments can be made by Cash or Check (no credit) until May 2023.

Keeping our Kids Safe Online

The Santee School District is hosting a parent training for Cyber Safety on January 19th at Rio Seco School. The presentation will be hosted by Cyber Education Consulting and will cover questions like:

  • How do I check privacy settings on my child's profiles?
  • How do I set up boundaries in the digital world?
  • What are the latest tech trends and what might my child be up to?
  • Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Discord, Twitch, Roblox, BeReal and many more applications explained

The event flyer is attached below.

If you plan to attend, here is the link to register: registration link Spaces are limited, so register today!
