From the Desk of Mr. Moretti

Dear Hawley Parents/Guardians,

I hope you are doing well and enjoyed your weekend.

We have a very busy week coming up with tons of great stuff.

Here's What's Happening at Hawley.......

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Tuesday-Friday (October 23-26) are Parent-Teacher Conferences. We look forward to sitting with you and discussing your child's progress and the work that we have been doing. Thursday also has evening conferences. Please feel free to visit the Book Fair in the Multi-Purpose Room while at Hawley.

These days are ALL EARLY DISMISSALS (1:37 pm)- please plan accordingly so no students are returned to school. Thank you-

To Coats or Not to Coats.....

This time of year, weather wise, we begin having the issue with coats. Do kids wear them or not? We are caught between a rock and a hard place. As adults responsible for the children in our care, we prefer students to wear coats on cold days. However, there are instances where parents have said it is their decision and the school should not force it. Having a child that wears shorts year round, I do understand the dilemma.

What you send your children to school wearing is up to you, just know that we go outside as long as the temperature (with wind chill) is 20 degrees or above. We can not keep some students inside if not dressed properly as there is no supervision. If a student is dressed in a way that is unsafe/unhealthy for the weather, then they will stay in with me and I will give you a call to discuss.

Thank you for your support with this matter and as always, feel free to give me a call with any questions that you may have.

Grade 4 Reading, Reading, Reading.....

Basketball Courts

The 2 basketball courts we have are regulation height and I can't help but notice very few baskets being made by our younger folk (despite their best efforts). Our terrific PTA (and all you parents) have generously donated funds to install 2 lower courts. They were installed Friday and the students could not be more thrilled.

FYI- they do not plug in or require batteries ;0)

THANK YOU for your generosity!!!
