Math Empowers Kindergarten

Middletown Township Public Schools

2018-2019 Trimester 2

As the new year, 2019 quickly approaches, check out all the new, fresh, and ready-to-use resources highlighted in this newsletter. Three new resources are being featured that can help support the content paced for the second trimester. Our friends YouCubed from Stanford have shared a new story telling resource for exploring 10 with Foot Parade. A new mathematical discourse routine is featured on the site Same but Different. Finally, have our kinder friends continue their mathematical story telling practice using some fun counting story boards.

Check out our featured Twitter follow of the month, Steve Wyborney, a mathematical educator who is "on a learning mission," shares so many great resources on his site. Splat is one of the favorites and is a great routine for our kinder friends to practice their subitizing skills as well as their number part knowledge.

Finally, when school resumes in January, we will be starting a New Year's Resolution to Love Math Dreambox challenge. Challenge dates will be January 14th to February 14th (which is also the 100th day of school)! See the details below!
