About CPH Leadership Society:


You have been selected to take part in a program called CPH Leadership Society. This program consists of a select group of students who have exclusive access to special programs run by your Academic Advisors and your Peer Advisors of the College of Public Health.

Our Next Event:

Our next CPH Leadership Society event will take place TOMORROW at 3:30pm in Ritter Annex 941. We will be discussing course registration so be sure to come by and check it out!

Registration is Almost Here!

Class registration for Spring 2017 is coming up much faster than you think! The official start date for registration is Wednesday November 2nd, however your exact date is determined by the number of credits you have earned. Check out the link below for more details.

Also, be sure to see your academic advisor to be sure you're on track for Fly in 4 and to pick the right courses!

Advisor of the Week: Mary Ward-Bucher

Mary Ward-Bucher joined CPH in March 2016 as an academic advisor for the Public Health program. Originally from central Pennsylvania, Mary also teaches in the Department of Religion in CLA. Mary was a self-supporting, first-generation college student, and is very familiar with the challenges that students face while in school. In her other life, Mary is an active community organizer and lives in South Philadelphia with her husband, two daughters (ages 8 and 12), and two cats who run the place.

Top 5 Tips for Temple Freshman

#1: Start Using a Calendar- It will help organize all your classes, exams, and extracurriculars!

#2: Make Time to Relax Everyday- Take 30 minutes to 1 hour to do whatever helps you destress.

#3: Buy Your Textbooks Secondhand- Browse the Facebook pages for your year/major to find some nice deals. After the course, sell the book to get some money back!

#4: Make a Budget- College is expensive. Stay on top of your finances buy using budgeting tools and mobile banking apps.

#5: Make Friends with Older Students- They can give you helpful advice and study materials from classes they have already taken.

Did you Know?

Temple University recently broke ground on a new Student Health and Wellness Center—an academic, athletics and recreation facility that will provide enhanced space for students in the College of Public Health to hone their clinical skills along with space for students to play recreational sports and weight train. The College of Public Health portion of the building, along Montgomery Avenue, will primarily serve the college’s clinical training programs, particularly the occupational therapy and physical therapy graduate programs, which will move from Temple’s Health Sciences Center to Main Campus.

New University President

The university's board of trustees recently named Richard Englert as Temple University's president. The 70-year-old was appointed acting president in July. Englert is a former provost and chancellor who has previously served as acting president prior to Theobald's appointment.

Student Center Blackstone Launchpad

Temple University's LaunchPad is an innovative program that treats entrepreneurship as a viable career path. In this workshop we'll demonstrate how to go about launching your own templated website. We'll walk through a few free options and share best practices for customizing and managing your site.

If you'd like to follow along on your own computer, bring a laptop!
