Brainfuse: HelpNow/JobNow:
Recently, Mark Richardson from the Cedar Mill Library visited Westview to present information to students on Brainfuse HelpNow/JobNow, a free tutoring service offered through Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS). He created a delightful presentation. Check it out here: http://bit.ly/brainfuse19
- Workona - If your student is like mine, they have so many tabs open they can’t even see which websites are which. Bookmarks maybe an answer, but can get onerous in organizing. Almost all WHS 9th grade students have now added the organizing extension ‘Workona’. (Watch this video here.) Creating ‘Workspaces’ for each of their classes helps them organize their online life in the same way they attempt to organize the physical materials needed for class in a binder. If your student already has the extension, ask them to show it to you (just a like a binder check). If they don’t have it, suggest that they add it to assist them online. http://bit.ly/workona

Digital Citizenship
Who can you trust online? How can you fact check across the internet, and how do you know if your fact checker is an accurate source in itself? Students are dealing with these questions all the time. To assist them, share episode 4 of John Green’s series on internet Digital Citizenship by clicking here: http://bit.ly/digitalcitizenship4
