Progress Reports- sent home today with students
Progress reports for our fall and winter i-Ready diagnostic results are being sent home with students today. This is just a snapshot of where your student is currently performing in these academic areas. Each student should receive three different reports.
- - West Ada School District progress report
- - i-Ready reading report
- - i-Ready math report
The West Ada district report summarizes your child’s fall and winter i-Ready results, identifying an overall score for math and reading, as well as a grade level placement. The two different i-Ready specific reports will go into more detail regarding your child’s overall performance in math and reading. We encourage you to talk with your child about these results, as they are also tracking their individual goals and progress in their math and ELA classrooms.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns.
Semester 2 Reminders:
To help support learning, and the success of our students, could you please help communicate these important items to your child(ren):

- Take a quick inventory of school supplies, such as pencils, paper and notebooks.
- Dress warmly- if temperatures are 20 degrees or above, students will be outside for a portion of their lunch time.

Change to Optional Device Protection Purchase Process for Parents
The deadline for parents to purchase Optional Device Protection online for student devices has passed. Parents can still enroll in Optional Device Protection at any time by scheduling a device inspection. Students can bring their device to the library for our IT person to assess. Once the device is cleared by the Technology Department, Optional Device Protection will be added to their online account (Rycor), and parents can pay online through PowerSchool. Parents can request optional device protection and a device assessment by submitting a West Ada Support Ticket or by calling the Technology Service Desk at 208-350-5300
Optional Device Protection Plan - Parent Notifications
Starting this fall, the district began sending weekly e-mail reminders to families regarding any outstanding fines for lost or damaged student technology. In January, e-mail notifications will be sent to families who have purchased a device protection plan when their student's device has suffered any damage or loss that is covered under the plan. Previously, families may not have been aware that a student's device had been damaged and that the Device Protection plan had been used. Please note that the plan covers the first incident, but subsequent incidents result in a $20 fine. Parents and Guardians who may have questions concerning Optional Device Protection or outstanding balances in our online payment system, Rycor, should e-mail onlinepayments@westada.org.
Yearbook sale deadline is January 19th!
Order by January 19th. Please pay at the bookkeeper's office or online at myschoolfees.com!
Special Deliveries/Outside Food/Drinks
- Per the Parent/Student handbook, we cannot accept any deliveries for students at school. Flowers, plants, balloons, food, or other deliveries to students will not be accepted due to student allergies, storage, disruption to the school day. (i.e., door dash, uber eats, etc.).
- Students arriving with outside drinks (i.e., coffee, shakes) may not take them to class or store them in their locker.
- We are unable to hold food and/or drinks for students to pick up later in the day and we cannot accept food deliveries from restaurants (i.e., pizza, sandwiches, etc.) to the school.
- We cannot accommodate group lunches. We appreciate your assistance in these matters.
Call Ahead!
DID YOU KNOW… you can call ahead to have your student waiting for you when you need to check them out. This ensures that your student is ready to go when you arrive, so you are not waiting on your student.
You ROCK, Mrs. Hess!
Mrs. Hess is an amazing registrar, and we appreciate all of her hard work, organization, positive attitude, and willingness to help out wherever needed. The transition of semesters is always a busy time of the year, but this doesn't faze her, and she continues to work with a smile on her face.
You ROCK, Mr. Prado and crew!
A HUGE thank you to Rigoberto, and his crew, for being here every day this week, removing A LOT of snow!
