BLOOMINGDALE NEWS
MARCH 2020
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Dear Bloomingdale Families,
Well, the year continues to move right along as we are finishing up with another busy month here at Bloomingdale Elementary School. I want to begin by thanking all the students, staff, and family members who joined us in the Winter Carnival Parade. Bloomingdale took 1st place this year in the “School Marching Group” division. Congratulations! Congratulations are also in order for all of the 4th and 5th grade students that took part in this year’s Spelling Bee. It takes a lot of courage to get up on stage in front of an audience and do anything, and all of the students showed remarkable poise. A special shout out goes to our very own Cadence Kennedy, who was a runner-up in this year’s competition! We are extremely proud of all of you!
Rounding out the highlights for this month- The 4th grade class traveled to the Adirondack Mountain Club for their annual Snowshoe excursion, The 4th grade hosted our monthly PBIS assembly where our new mascot “Dacks” the bear was formally introduced, and the school celebrated 100 days of school by dressing up and donating to the penny pot.
March promises to be another busy month with plenty of activities planned for March Madness, and a possible visit from Olympic Luge Silver Medalist Chris Mazdzer. Please refer to the important dates section in this newsletter for further details.
*Reminder to everyone that State Exams begin on Wednesday, March 25th for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students.
Looking forward to Spring!
