Building Knowledge through Text Sets
Imagine a world where students are able to make connections and build knowledge through the texts read in class
Many teachers are teaching reading as an event focused on using strategies to gain comprehension. The goal is to transition from teaching literacy emphasizing strategies to teachers enabling students to build knowledge from texts that students then use for a larger purpose.
This is possible through:
- Understanding the research behind texts sets
- Learning how to create text sets
- Collaborating and sharing with other teachers
