A state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.
Things that cause stress are called 'stressors'.
Different types of stress are:
-Acute Stress
Comes from demands and pressures of the recent past and anticipated demands and pressures of the near future.
-Episodic Acute Stress
The type of stress that develops when continuous disorganization, chaos, and crisis are a way of life for the individual.
-Chronic Stress
The response to emotional pressure suffered for a prolonged period over which an individual perceives he or she has no control.
