Barrett Team Adventures
December 5, 2016
Dear Parents,
Dear Parents,
This week, progress reports will be available on ParentVue starting December 7th. Please remember that progress reports will not be printed and sent home, they will only be accessible online only. These reports are a valuable tool for you and your child to discuss their success as a learner, while making new goals for second trimester.
We hope that you had a great weekend and enjoyed the winter wonderland outside yesterday! All of the schools in District 47 have the same guidelines for determining if recess will be indoors or outdoors. If the temperature is 15 degrees or above, students are expected to go outside for the entire recess. If the temperature is 0 - 14 degrees, students go outside for 20 minutes. If the temperature is below 0 degrees, students have indoor recess. Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for the winter weather.

New friends- This week, our new friends will continue to use multiple methods to divide large numbers. A strategy that many friends have been using is to explain the steps verbally as they complete the problem. By explaining the steps, it is starting to become routine. PLEASE continue to practice all computation at home! Your support at home is greatly appreciated as we become masters!
Old friends- This week we will continue to practice solving a variety of story problems that require us to multiply or divide with fractions. Our unit 3 test will be on Friday, December 9th. We will spend Wednesday and Thursday reviewing all skills covered in this unit.Social Studies
