ARSA Instructional Highlights
ARSA ELAR Instructional Highlight - Ms. Leake - 8th Grade
ELAR Instructional Highlight for this week is Ms. Leake.
Ms. Leake is an expert in small group instruction. You will often see her pulling a group of students who need work on a particular skill or TEKS and providing them differentiated, explicit teaching, prompting and support. The rest of the class are divided into groups where they are engaged in previously taught strategies and skills, reading and comprehending texts or working on the Achieve 3000 computer-based literacy program.
These small groups also give students the opportunity to engage in academic discourse about the day’s content. Her students are using academic vocabulary and multi-level questions in order to deepen their understanding about text and make relevant connections to the text.
Ms. Leake shows small group instruction can work and work well at ARSA!!
- Send text and picture to Mrs. Taylor-Glenn via email.
- Subject line must include Spotlight.
- Due by every Friday, 5pm.
Spotlight on Ms. Larsen - Lead
I want to spotlight Ms Larsen with a contribution to the Lead Mantra:
Ms. Larsen has contributed to the ARSA campus by being a leader and spearheading the Mural Art club this year. She recruited a wonderful group of students that have planned and organized mural designs to beautify the school.
She has been consistent with making this happen at A.R. S. A by collecting materials and getting input about the designs. This is a wonderful attribute of the ARSA positive attitude.
(My apologies to Ms. Wilson as I overlooked this Spotlight from before.)
Spotlight on Ms. Gill, Ms. Brown, and Ms. Dela Rosa ~ Team. Lead
Mrs. Linwood writes:
Spotlight on Ms. Gill & Ms. Brown for showing their commitment to support achievement of all student populations by submitting their ACP accommodations! Students have been busy preparing.
Ms. Macon had students completing their ACP review and checking their own work to record their data. Most students were excited to report they only missed 2 questions on their review!!
Thanks to Ms. DeLaRosa for always offer her help to bring beauty and order to our hallway. She is a great team player and does everything with a smile J
Spotlight on all our "spreaders" of GREAT CHEER with our Door Decorators
Thank you tremendously to all of our staff members who have truly spread cheer, ohhh's and ahhhh's as we turn corners....with all our fantastic winter doors! There are so many of you.
Kudos to you all for your hard work that went into each one and everyone went all out!
It fills the campus with cheer and I did not want this season to pass without me expressing my appreciation. On top of your days here you took the time to share joy. LOVE IT!
Personally, I love walking down the halls ~ It brings a smile to my face.
Spotlight on Ms. Lacy ~Achieve
Kudos to Ms. Lacy for coordinating our United Way Campaign events this year. We have never raised this much before and it shows that the fun nature of the activities and consistent focus on including events weekly have paid off!
