Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Please join us Friday, February 12th for Baywood's Annual Friendship Walk & Family Picnic! Join your child's class for the walk & come back at lunch with a picnic blanket and meal (pack a lunch, order a pizza, etc) and enjoy picnicking with your child and their friends!

This is a favorite fundraiser for the kids of Baywood! In this past Monday's Blue Folders there was a Friendship Walk Envelope included. Inside the Envelope you will find all of the info about the fundraiser, pledges, prizes, and the Walk itself. Friendship Walk is an awesome fundraiser because the kids are actively involved in it! Pledges can be made per lap, or flat donation. Friends and family that are out of town can also pledge. Questions?: email: friendshipwalk2016@att.net or Contact Robin Skaggs at 801-3678 or Casey Rosenlieb at 234-8915.

Please let your child know in advance if you will be attending the picnic lunch so they are not expecting you if you cannot attend. If you can come to our picnic, feel free to invite your child's friends to join you too!

The Friendship Walk Schedule is as follows:

9:00-9:30 Fay, Stocking, Dallas & Lloyd-Moffett

9:30-10:00 Dale, Cappellano, Newell & Slusher

10:45-11:15 Dishen, Snapp, Banfield & Curran

11:15-11:45 MacLeod, Clyburn, Craig & Dawkins

Family Picnic will be at 12:10-12:45. School lunches are available for children, as always, and can be brought to the picnic if that is your preference. Let your child know.

See you Friday!

Jennifer Dinielli

Baywood Valentine's Policy

Thank you to our Baywood room parents and teaching staff who have been doing an excellent job of implementing our District’s Wellness policy this year during our classroom parties! Students are being given the opportunity to make wise food choices during class celebrations!

Several of our classes participate in the exchange of Valentine’s cards with their classmates. We will continue to do this, but ask that NO FOOD ITEMS be added to the cards. This is both in compliance with our District’s Wellness Policy, as well as in support of the numerous students we have at Baywood with food allergies.

If your child would like to add a little gift to their Valentine’s card, here are some ideas that were given out by our PTA: Stickers, pencil, eraser, book mark

Open Enrollment Registration

Mark your calendars! Open enrollment and registration begins Monday, February 29, 2016 through Thursday, March 24, 2016.

***If you have a friend or neighbor with a child who will be of Preschool or Kindergarten age for next school year, spread the word***

What is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment is the time period during which families may request their child attend a school other than their home school. While we hope you are happy at Baywood, we understand that sometimes, for a variety of reasons, families are better served by their child attending another school due to transportation needs, child care or other circumstances. If this is your situation, come to our office between the dates listed above to complete the request paperwork. Do not miss this important deadline.

How do I Register an Incoming PreSchooler or Incoming Kindergartner?

Come into our office starting Feb. 29th for the paperwork & information. Incoming Kindergartners must be five years old on or before September 1, 2016. Transitional Kindergartners must be five on or before December 2, 2016. Preschool students must be four by December 2, 2016. If you have a friend or neighbor with a child this age, please help us get the word out about these important dates!

What if I already have a child at Baywood, how do I Register them for the Next School Year?

You will receive InfoSnap online registration info in the Spring and will attend our Registration Day at the end of Summer. We will be sharing that important date with you soon!

If you have any questions about registration, please stop by our office or call 534-2856.
