Arrival and Dismissal Notes
Back to School Notes Regarding Arrival and Dismissal
Dear Young Families,
Here are a few notes to help parents and students with arrival and dismissal.
For your reference, please find below a map that shows where students enter and exit the building each day. Teachers will review dismissal procedures with students as well.
Also, please find below the Student Dismissal Form. All students are required to have a Student Dismissal Form completed by a parent. Classroom teachers and office staff use this document to know how children will leave at the end of each school day. Please make sure to complete this form and turn it in to the classroom teacher at Meet & Greet or on the first day of school.
In addition, if you have a first grade student who is a walker, please complete the 1st grade walker form and turn it in to your child's classroom teacher at Meet and Greet or the first day of school.
Please talk with your child about how they will go home each day and where in the building they will go for dismissal.
Sincerely,
Ms. Morgan

Dismissal Locations
Car Drop-Off & Pick-Up Zone
The Car Pick-Up and Drop-Off Zone is the safest way to pick-up and drop-off your student while in a vehicle. Students exit the car on the curb side while parents stay in the car.
- Please follow staff directions.
- Pull your car all the way forward before stopping to let your child out.
- The entire semi-circle is used to unload and load vehicles. We load the circle with vehicles, exit students, and then allow cars to leave.
- Please do not back up in the car pick-up line.
- Remain in the vehicle at all times. If you should have a question, staff is equipped with radios and can relay information to the office staff.
- Please remember that state law prohibits cell phone usage in any school zone including the car pick-up line.
Front Drive Reserved for Buses
Due to bus arrival and bus dismissal (8:15-8:45 & 3:15-3:45) parents are not allowed to use the front circle drive during arrival and dismissal.
Only parents who have pre-approval from the office are allowed to enter the front lot. If parents/family members are not on the pre-approval list, they will be re-directed to the Young car line off of Crestview.
Traffic and Pedestrian Safety
- Cell Phone Usage in School Zone: Please remember that state law prohibits cell phone usage in a school zone.
- Crossing Guards: Please remember to follow the traffic directions of the crossing guards.
- Stop Signs: Please remember to make a complete stop at the stop signs.
- Walkers and Bike/Scooter Riders: Students are to walk their bikes/scooters when they are on school grounds.
- No Dogs at Arrival and Dismissal: For the safety of our students, we ask that parents refrain from bringing dogs onto school property during arrival and dismissal time periods.
Safely Cross Asbury with the Crossing Guard
The safest way to cross Asbury Dr is with the crossing guard at Liberty & Asbury or Crestview & Asbury.
If you choose not to use the safest route of crossing Asbury at the crosswalk, you must walk your child back and forth across Asbury Dr.
