Mansfield Public Schools

September 15, 2022

We are off and running! The schools enjoyed a smooth opening for the new year and I’m pleased to report that students have settled into their routines very quickly.

My thanks to all who helped with this week’s water situation. From Sunday through today, we’ve had many individuals who came together to make certain all was in readiness for staff and students. Hand washing, drinks of water during lunch and throughout the day, and the reopening of water bottle refill stations were tasks taken on by Facilities, Food Service, Health Services, Athletics, and administrators. Town officials were, as always, very supportive of our schools.

This newsletter is brief, but I’d like to highlight two items: Please save the date of September 28 for a school safety evening presentation geared primarily for the adults in our community. I’d also like to point out the announcement for the Community Service Awards. I hope that you will consider nominating a deserving youth. Our students are engaged in important volunteer efforts and, although they don’t do it to be recognized, it’s a wonderful tribute to be awarded this prestigious annual award.

I am appreciative of the high turnout of parents/guardians for the evening events that MHS and QMS have hosted so far this week. Faculty and staff strive to foster positive relationships with you. Senior Night and Curriculum Nights provide schools and families with an opportunity to kick off the school year in fine form. This evening MHS will host Curriculum Night followed by Curriculum Nights on the following dates:

9/15: Mansfield High School

9/20: Jordan/Jackson Elementary

9/21: QMS, Grade 7

9/22: QMS, Grade 8

9/29: Robinson Elementary

10/11: Roland Green Preschool

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Teresa Murphy
