Fire Prevention Week

It was Fire Prevention Week and we want to thank the Keene Fire Department for taking the time to talk with each one of our elementary classes. Students learned what to do in case of a fire and how to plan NOW for a possible fire at home.

The Books of the Bible Challenge

Congratulations to so many of our students who have already memorized the books of the Bible. We are proud of you! Thank you for helping us reach our goal of having every student memorize the books of the Bible. Great Job!

(Repost) Parent Teacher Conferences

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our first quarter ended this past Friday. Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, Oct. 19. This is a chance to discuss how your child is doing so far this school year. Teachers will also share about the recent MAP test that all students, kindergarten through 8th grade took. I encourage you to take this opportunity to talk with your child's teacher. As in past years we will use sign-up genius to schedule appointments with teachers. Classroom links are listed below in red. I will also send you an email with them. It only takes three short steps to sign up.

1. Click the link for the grade your child is in.

2. Select the time and at the bottom of your screen click "Submit and sign up" .

3. Enter in your information and click "sign up now"

We do have a couple of different procedures this year due to covid. When you arrive for your meeting, please check in at the school office. Please do not enter the building any more than 5 minutes before your scheduled meeting. The gymnasium will be closed on Monday, Oct. 19. Children will need to stay with parents as no child care will be available.Teacher will disinfect the common use area between meetings. Please come on-time or a little early.

We are also offering to have conferences over the phone if you are uncomfortable having them in person. Just indicate your preference when you sign up and your child's teacher will call you at your scheduled time.

If you have a child in middle school, please schedule your parent/teacher conference with your child's homeroom teacher. They will be able to share with you about all subject areas. If you still would like to meet with a different teacher about a subject you can schedule a meeting after the P/T Conference by calling the office.

Thank you for all your support, working with your child and your child's teacher. We have had an excellent first quarter and we are looking forward to a great rest of our year.

Gymnasium Progress

Again, what a lot of difference a week makes! Wednesday night the east side of the gymnasium parking lot was prepped and poured. Entrances still need to be formed and poured but we are getting so close to seeing steal going up and bolts turned. Please consider helping us make this gym a reality with a financial contribution. We need your help. Remember right now every dollar given is matched 100%.

New Spin for the JH walk-a-thon

This year, as students walked the Walk-a-Thon, they were able to gain a new perspective of Jesus and how he journeyed across the Holy Land. Students were able to experience distances that the Bible talks about. They also met and talked with a Bible mystery character and had to discover who he was by asking questions in conversation. Students were also able to get water from the well and guess how far Jesus walked during his life and his three and a half year ministry.

School Sweatshirts are now Available

Cool weather is here, and new school sweatshirts are also here. Fight the chilly weather with a new KAES sweatshirt. This year we have gray zipper hoodies with a white emblem on front and the eagle on back. Cost is $27 and sizes youth small to adult extra large are currently available.
