Ms. B's Briones Buzz
Dear Briones Families,
Staff, students, and families are working hard to make distance learning successful for our Bobcats, and with continued communication, outreach, and support we will implement what is working and adjust where needed. It has been a pleasure getting into classroom zooms and seeing the connection, support, engagement, and creativity that our students and teachers are displaying as communities are being built and learning is taking shape!
I will look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 1! Please note that the K-5 information session from 5:30-6:00 PM will be recorded. Your child's teacher will be sending you a zoom link for their program session.
Parent and Student Office Hours
I will be available to families and students during new office hours! Please fee free to drop in if you have questions, concerns, ideas, or just to say hello! Students and adults are welcome! If a student feels proud of work they've done, or has anything they would like to share, it would make my day to connect!
Tuesdays: 11:00-11:30: https://pausd.zoom.us/j/93169040237?pwd=TlU1dFBqeVJ6TWxrcVNBT2JnRzJVQT09

Friday, September 4th is a Distric-Wide Minimum Day
Kindergarten students will be dismissed after Block 3 at 11:50 AM.
Students in grades 1-5, will not have a Lunch Block. Instead, Block 3 will be from
10:50 AM - 12:00 PM. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM.
There will be no school on Monday, September 7th. Enjoy the Labor Day weekend!
Just what do those blocks on the schedule mean?
We are very fortunate at Briones to be piloting a specialized schedule that allows for maximum support for students in the classroom from our team of specialists.
The Core Block: This is a 6-15 minute block where the teacher is presenting new content. All students are present for this learning. No students are pulled out for support.
The Differentiation Block: This is the block immediately following the core block where teachers are present and working with small groups or individual students. Specialists can also push-in to support students during this "workshop" time, or they can pull students for supports and aides and Student Attendants also help with small group instruction and support.
The Student Independent Work Block: This block is still part of the instructional day. Activities for this block are assigned by teachers and students should be able to work independently on them. If your child is struggling during independent work blocks, be sure to communicate with your child's teacher. Independent Work Block/Differentiation: When you see "Differentiation Block" in a Student Independent Work time block, it means that specialists may still work with students during these times. Classroom teacher may also choose to work with students during this time.
Office Hours: These are optional check-in times for students if they need help or have questions about work.
PiE Funded SPECTRA Art
Briones is fortunate to have donations to Partners in Education, (PiE) that fund our classroom instructional aides, who work with children individually and in small groups guided by the classroom teacher.
Thank you for recognizing the importance of music and dance in creating a well-rounded educational experience for our students. As a result of your thoughtful donation to PiE, all Briones students receive music instruction each week. Our primary students in grades K-2 receive dance in the spring!
Our students also receive SPECTRA Art instruction as a result of your generous donations to PiE! This type of enrichment is unheard of in most California public schools.
Take a look at what SPECTRA Art will include during distance learning in two informative brochures below.
