Sidwell Park Planting
We planted 35 trees at Sidwell Park in Midland, Texas! A huge thank you to Diamondback Energy, who sponsored this tree planting and did some great planting, and Midland TreeKeepers, who taught us all how to plant trees, and the City of Midland employees who did an incredible amount of augering holes. We couldn't have done this without YOU!!
*** Even bigger news - Diamondback Energy has committed to planting a total of 100 trees in Midland parks by the end of 2021!
Don't Panic!!
We had a hard week of below freezing temperatures in February. While we are seeing trees starting to recover, don't panic if you think yours is not. Keep watering it and, as hard as it is, wait a bit more. Your tree(s) might just need some more time to recover.
Trash 4 Cash Goals!
This year, we have set a goal of $20,000 to give to non-profits who participate in our Trash 4 Cash Program. Look at where we are already!! You can be a part of it too, as long as you are part of a 501(c)3 non-profit. Turn picking up trash into some cash for your group today!
Sidwell Park
We try to regularly feature Midland Parks on our website. Our newest feature is Sidwell Park and is located at 500 Neely Ave. There is a walking trail, outfitted with 35 new trees, courtesy of Diamondback Energy. This 5.3 acre neighborhood park also features a playground, picnic table, and great expanse to run, play soccer, frisbee or even catch. You might even spot a prairie dog or two, like we did!
Keep Midland Beautiful
Don't forget we have our PowerPoint Presentations and videos on our website to help you learn more about recycling, litter prevention, waste management, natural resources, and water conservation. We are very happy to either come and educate in person or virtually, depending on your needs. You can request a presentation for your class, school, club, organization, or business today.
