Mrs. Coleman's Weekly News!
This week focused on identifying the author and illustrator in books. We read a collection of books including, "The Mitten", "Little Quack", and "The Hat". In each book we discussed where to find the author and illustrator and found them on the front cover.
This week in Math they completed centers. The centers included, skip counting by 2's/5's and 10's, writing skip counting numbers by 5's and 10's, a shape board game identifying geometric shape names, and lastly a clock center identifying time to the hour and showing it on a small clock.
We began discussing parts of a neighborhood and community. Everyone determined the places in St. Charles that they would like to build, and we made a class list to decide the best places in our community that they want to create. We will build the community after winter break. Please remember to start sending in empty boxes we need around 20 to complete the project. Thanks!
Great site for planet info! :)
Everyone enjoyed the Book Swap! They went to each center and listened to guest readers, decorated bags, collected books and created a book mark. Thanks for all the books that were donated.
