Let There Be Light!
A Small Twinkle in the Darkness
I Wonder How It Works?
First a disclosure: no students were harmed in the lighting of the lightbulbs. While our homemade wires can get warm, we have been able to avoid major burns despite what the students may tell you.
We are well into our unit and things are going quite well. The students are leading the way by figuring out what works on their own with just a little guidance from me. Below are just a few photos of our first attempts at lighting a lightbulb. Big props to Cora who figured it out in less than 5 minutes!
Routine is Becoming Routine
We started our next two-week word study unit today and the previous quiz should have found its way home in the Monday folders. Many students are struggling with finishing required elements in their journals, despite ample time in class to do so. We had a discussion today about taking responsible for our work.
Parent-Teacher Conferences Not Far Away
Sounds a little crazy, but it's true. Once we have our schedule from administration, I will send out a sign-up genius with slots over several days. They should begin in a couple of weeks.
