Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress Testing NEXT WEEK
Monday: Math
Tuesday: Reading
Wednesday: No testing
Thursday: Writing
Friday: Science
Makeup testing will occur the week of April 22 - 25.
I'd like to encourage you to make sure your child is eating breakfast and getting plenty of rest during the week, and to encourage them to relax and do their best. I will plan to provide some fun and engaging lessons as well as brain breaks to help them manage their energy!
To be sure that each child gets a healthy snack during this long week of testing, I am creating a Signup Genius for a family to bring a snack on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I will bring a snack on Friday. I also would like to plan to have root beer floats on Friday to celebrate and will provide a sign up for that. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
News from Ms. Hess
Two permission slips were sent home with your child last week. An additional copy was sent home to those who have not returned the Growing Up slip. One is for our puberty talk called Growing Up. In order for your child to participate, you will need to have it signed by MONDAY.
The second is for an Electronic Recording Release and Authorization from Grant Wood for the Underground Railroad Spheros Makerspace Challange in which we are participants. This allows Grant Wood Area Education Association to take video of our process to share our learning with other teachers and schools who would like to integrate technology in their classes. Please return by MONDAY.
In math this week we classified polygons and triangles.
In literacy, we started a new round of book clubs and we started analyzing lyrical poetry.
In science, we started our mixtures and solutions unit and will explore concepts related to the STEM field engaging in many problem-solving challenges.
IXL Practice for Math: L6, L8, L10, L19and PRODIGY GAME!
