After months of work by over 70 of GCISD's K-5 teachers, we are hosting 4 identical sneak peeks into the new documents, resources, and expectations. Join us on one of the following dates:

Choose to attend either the morning or afternoon sessions of the 4-day 2016 Humanities Institute (Morning and afternoon content will be identical on Monday and Thursday; a few breakout sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday may differ based on presenter availability.)

NTCTELA Conference: June 10
K-5 Reading/Writing Workshop Bootcamp: June 13
This one-day workshop will help teachers who are new to reading/ writing workshop gain a better sense of this format and strengthen their understanding of designing meaningful work for K-5 readers and writers. Of course, anyone eager to learn more about reading/ writing workshop is welcome to attend, whether they are a new or veteran teacher! Newly redesigned K-5 Humanities Curriculum resources will be woven into this session.

Literacy for Secondary Students: August 2-3
(Formerly known as SpringBoard training)
UPDATED CONTENT: Based on teacher feedback gathered during the spring of 2016, this institute has been redesigned. The agenda for these days will include an opportunity for teachers to help shape and resequence the expectations for SpringBoard implementation during the 2016-17 school year. Additionally, teachers will collaborate on unit design and learn more effective ways of using SpringBoard lessons and workshops.
