Murphy News
October 2019
Thank you
The Murphy Staff would like to thank the parents that brought in all the delicious food for Parent Teacher Conferences. What a treat to sit down to a wonderful meal on such a long day. We also want to thank Kristen Paluch, Lindsay Pender and Dawn Sjoblom and our PTC for coordinating everything. We have such awesome parents!
Murphy Shoe Policy
The cold weather is here! It’s time for boots, mittens, hats and warm coats! From now through the first of May we are requesting that students have shoes for inside, preferably tennis shoes so they can be used for gym and boots or winter shoes for outside. If students do not have outside shoes/boots we ask them to remain on the pavement for recess.
Report Cards
Report Cards will be emailed again this year. The end of the Trimester is November 26th and report cards should be emailed by the following week. At the beginning of the year we asked parents to provide an active email address. We want to remind parents to keep the school updated on any changes to your email or any other contact information.
Thanksgiving Feast at Murphy
The Thanksgiving Feast will take place on Friday, November 22nd for grades Kdg.-2nd. It will start at 2:30 PM and ends at 3:10 PM. Students will be busy making place mats, headdresses and other items to reminisce the way it was with the Indians and Pilgrims. Menus will include corn muffins, pumpkin pie, popcorn and lots more!
No School!
There is no school Monday November 25th through Friday November 29th because of Records Day and the Thanksgiving Holiday. Enjoy your time off and don't eat too much turkey
Mark your Calendar - Tree Lighting and Christmas Sing-a-long
Come join our Murphy 2nd Graders for the fun on Thursday December 5th at Harmer Park in Metamora at 7:00 p.m. Students should be there at 6:45. Our students will be singing all the Christmas Carols that we love to hear during the Christmas season. The Metamora Lions Club provides cookies and hot chocolate in the park and Santa will be over at the “Old Town Hall” when the kids are done singing.
