Village Insider (COVID-19): Issue 6

Aurora Community School

Governor Polis signed an executive order suspending in-person learning in public and private schools across the state through April 30th. However, Governor Polis has stated that it is "unlikely" that students will return to class this year. Aurora Public Schools and the surrounding districts in the Denver Metro area have all decided to stop in-person learning, for the remainder of the year. We, at ACS, will follow suit and utilize virtual learning for the remainder of the school year.

End of School Year: VOTE <Action Needed>

Big picture
Now that we have decided to continue with virtual learning for the remainder of the year, we've been discussing the best date for the last day of school. We originally planned to end school on Friday, June 5. However, we have considered following closely what the district does, including ending the school year officially on May 21, with the rest of the Aurora Public Schools district.

We don't want to make this decision alone; so we are asking that you take a minute to complete this very short poll, regarding the last day of school. Once we've heard from you, we will share out the results and any additional information necessary!

Read Aloud with Mrs. Williams

It was so great to see so many of you at the LIVE Reading with Mrs. Williams on Wednesday. But, don't worry, if you missed it; you can find the recorded video on our Facebook Page. We've posted the video of the session, so you can watch it as many times as you'd like.

Nyasha has so graciously agreed to give away 3 of her books, as well as a reusable bag! How can you enter? We've posted the video on our FB page, so...If you like the post/video, you will get 1 entry into the drawing; if you leave a comment on the video, you will get 2 entries into the drawing, and if you share it, you will be entered into the drawing THREE times! We will announce the winners at our next live on Wednesday, April 22 from 4-5 pm! Good luck!
