NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 9 | 1 APRIL 2022

Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parent and caregivers,
This week we welcomed back a number of our students and staff as we continue to deal with Covid-19 at school.
A reminder to all parents, if your child is unwell, please do not send them to school and complete the online Absentee form via the website. If your child receives a Covid positive PCR/RAT please complete the Self-Reporting Form for Students and Staff and email myself or Emma Fernandez of the positive result. This notification will be considered the explained absences for your child. Thank you to those that have done this already, it helps immensely with the paperwork!
Parent/teacher interviews started this week, and it was great to hear all the positive talk about re-connecting with parents. These opportunities are very important, and I encourage anyone who may not have booked an appointment yet, to do so. Parent/teacher interviews will continue next week.
Next week is going to be a busy one to finish off Term 1. Thursday will be ‘Crazy Sock Day’ with a friendly Staff v’s Students Cricket game at lunchtime. The P&F have organised an Easter Raffle with tickets on sale from Monday to Thursday. The raffle will be drawn on Thursday straight after lunch. A big thank you to Margaret Quirk MLA for her donation of the Easter Raffle. To conclude the term the P&F Colour Run will be held on Friday. I am looking forward to seeing a sea of colour explode over the oval.
Enjoy the final week of school!
God bless
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

Support Project Compassion
We are now in the third week of Lent with the Project Compassion story of Janice, a Wagilak woman and traditional dancer who tells her family’s stories through movements handed down over generations.
Like many remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Janice’s faces a range of challenges – low employment and education, financial hardship, poorer health and lower life expectancy.
With your help, Caritas Australia supports Djilpin Arts Aboriginal Corporation, which operates a centre for traditional and contemporary Aboriginal arts and culture, providing employment and generating income for local communities.
Janice believes that Djilpin Arts’ work is essential to create opportunities for young people to stay on-country, to share intergenerational knowledge between elders and the younger generation - to promote healing, and to keep culture alive.
Last weekend: collect vouchers from West Australian
