Parent-Teacher Teams coming in 2019-2020!
Hearne will be piloting APTT for the 2019-2020 school year!
Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) is a model of family engagement that is grounded in the notion that schools can thrive when families and teachers work together, as genuine partners, to maximize student learning inside and outside of school. The model is research-based and aligns grade-level learning concepts, student performance data, and family-teacher communication and collaboration.
You can watch a detailed video about APTTs here: https://vimeo.com/169255699
We will be discussing this at our next team leader meeting! You are welcome to join the discussion about this collaborative adventure!

Mission Statement
The mission of Hearne Elementary School is to guide our students to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make responsible life choices and positive contributions in a diverse society. In collaboration with home and community, we respond to the needs of every child, ensuring that each child can and will learn.
We are all responsible for campus safety: If you see something, say something!
Lead from your feet, not your seat!
Personal Use of Electronic Devices
Electronic media communication such as text messaging, group texting chat rooms (What's App), and social network sites (Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.) are not allowed while on duty.
Electronic devices should not impair or interfere with your job duties.
Reminders for all staff
- If you are going to be absent, you must notify your supervisor.
- All staff should be at work on time every day.
- Professional staff members (with the exception of staff who support in the morning with arrival), should not Raptor out earlier than 3:40 PM.
- Welcome students at your doorways at 7:40 AM daily.
- Plan ahead to ensure you arrive to campus before your scheduled duty begins.
- The expectation is for all staff to use it daily to sign in and sign out.
- If the Raptor system is down, we will do a manual sign in sheet where you will record your time in and out.
- You cannot Raptor in and be at your assigned duty at the same time. Campus safety is everyone's responsibility. It takes the effort from all players for our team to succeed.
- Refrain from touching students, unless they are a danger to self or others. Call an administrator if you need support.
