Newsletter Week 3, Term 3 2021
St Joseph's Catholic School Morrinsville 10th August 2021
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Nau mai haere mai,
The temperature has changed this week and the cold snap has hit. Definitely time to rug up for winter! We hope you enjoyed reading the mid term updates that went home last week. The teachers have spent considerable time writing comments that reflect each child's in learning. You are very welcome to organise a time to meet with your child's teacher if you would like to discuss further regarding learning at school.
This week we are hosting some teachers from our Catholic Schools who have the position of Director of Religious Studies. Jemma Van Eijk is our person who has this role. She will be spending some time with the group on Wednesday sharing curriculum ideas and faith knowledge.
This Friday is Star Jam. Mark the date on your calendar and come to school dressed as your favourite book or movie character. A gold coin donation will be collected. This is a great opportunity as a school to raise awareness around disability and to promote health and wellness in our community.
We wish our hockey teams all the best as they play their first games this week. We have five teams representing our school.
Don't forget that Wednesday 18 August is our Grandparent's Day. We would like to invite all of our grandparents and special family friend's who play a grandparent role.
We hope you have a lovely week and God Bless you.
Andrea Colebourn, Principal

Did you know?
Children’s liturgy is offered to all children who have not yet made their First Communion each Sunday throughout the term?
It is a special time for your children to hear God’s word at an age appropriate level with interactive workshop resources to support their experience of prayer, of listening to the Scriptures and of understanding more fully the messages from the Gospels.
Parents are welcome to join their children and share their experience (although it will mean you miss Father Mark’s excellent homilies!).
Found...
Found on the school grounds approx one week ago. If you own it, or may know who owns it, please give the office a call (8895306) to confirm and identify by distinguishing marks. If not claimed will be taken to the police station. Hopefully we can reunite it with its owner.
