Announcements
- Thank you to all of the parents who placed orders for our Scholastic book order. Because of you, each child received their own copy of an exclusive Scholastic book, and our class received 10 free books! That is amazing! Thank you!
- If you choose to send in lunch money for your student, please be sure it is in an envelope or plastic bag and labeled with your student's first and last name. Thank you!
- Please see my eBoard for any past newsletters!
- Enjoy your break next week! Our district is awesome enough to provide choices for the professional development sessions I am attending next week. A couple that I think will be really helpful are growth mindset and all of the technology sessions!
Fun Facts
- We have begun watching a live video feed of eagles! The eagles are located at Berry College in Georgia. It is neat to see the eagles nest, take care of the eggs, watch the eggs hatch, and then watch the babies learn to fly! If your students would like to check out the camera at home, please click here.
- Last week, we did a fun FrankenWorms experiment. You may have seen their priceless reactions in the pictures on the Homeroom app! The students were asking me to send you the directions for the experiment, so please see the photo below!
Curriculum
Fundations
* Ask your student to sing you the punctuation song, or you can listen to it on one of our videos on Homeroom! They're super cute!
We are now well into Unit 3, which focuses on the digraphs wh, th, ch, sh, and ck. Ck can be tricky for some students, so I remind them that ck only goes at the end of a word. It is neat to see how students want to be digraph detectives throughout the day, asking if they can underline digraphs in classwork outside of word study!
